Our children will be back in school in less than a month! Immediately, the fundraisers will begin. We try to help out the local schools by creating a bottle cap (for the bottle cap necklaces or locker magnets) using the school’s logo and making a donation for each one we sell. Summer Clearance
Our 50% off summer sale has ended. Thank you to everyone who came in and helped us make room for fall & winter clothing. Yes, the sale ended but most of our summer clothing is still 30-50% off on automatic markdowns based on the dates they arrived in our stores. AHA UNIFORMS
We have plenty of AHA uniforms and we also need your uniforms if you have any that don’t fit your children anymore. In the past week, we have had many families shopping for their back to school uniforms. So come in now for the best selection or call to drop off your clothing. We also need Primrose uniform shirts. Let us know if we can become the local resale headquarters for any other private school uniforms!
Selling your Clothing with Us
As of this season, we are buying your clothing instead of taking them on consignment. Please see all of the details below. We are taking more drop offs on a daily basis. Call now to schedule your drop off!
Selling to & Consigning With Funky Monkey
Funky Monkey now purchases your clothing up front. We still take baby gear (strollers, Pack n’ plays, exersaucers, swings, etc.) on consignment. We also still take AHA uniforms on a consignment basis. Drop-offs are done by appointment and what we purchase is seasonal. We buy Spring & Summer items from January through June and fall & winter items from July through December, based on demand. On your scheduled day, you may drop off anytime during the window of 11 am – 5 pm. There are no appointments on Saturdays, but special exceptions can be made, should our schedule allow. You will need to pick up your bins & accept /decline our offer within 3 business days after drop off. We will select the items we want & need and offer you a price for those items. The offer will be for all items that we select, or none. When you pick up your bin, you can decide whether to accept or decline the offer. If you accept the offer by the 1st of the month, your check will be available by the 10th of that month. If you accept the offer by the 15th of the month, your check will be available by the 25th of that month. Consigned items that sell will follow the same payment schedule. If the items sell by the 1st of the month, the check will be available by the 15th and if they sell by the 15th, the check will be available by the 25th of the month. Please note that we will only mail out checks if you live outside of Cherokee, Cobb or Bartow counties.
We purchase sizes preemie/newborn through juniors. We only accept items in “LIKE NEW” condition and in “CURRENT” (that you would be able to purchase at the mall or other new retail stores today) styles. We do not purchase items with excessive wear, missing buttons, missing tags, split seams, holes, pilling or any stains whatsoever. Clothing should be re-laundered & pressed before you bring it to us & shoes need to be clean. Please check winter coats/jackets as many times we find that they were put away the previous season without being laundered & still have “treasures” in the pockets. We do not accept cloth diapers, underwear, socks or hats (unless they are part of an outfit). Baby gear must be clean & stain free as well! We cannot accept potty chairs, bath tubs or breast pumps. We accept all brands with the exception of “dollar store”, Wal-Mart & Kmart brands. Please remember that what we pay is dependent on the brand. Items ABSOLUTELY must be in a BIN WITH A LID when you drop them off. If the above guidelines are not followed, it will not only affect what we are able to accept but will also affect the price we are able to offer as we will be required to do more work prior to being able to sell your items.

FUNKY BANDZ TRADING DAY
During the summer, we will have Bandz Trading Days every Thursday from 4:00-6:00 pm at both stores! We will also have a trading day every first Saturday at Bridgemill & third Saturday at Hickory Flat from 11:30-3:30. Kids can come and trade their bandz with other kids and our employees! We will have drawings once an hour for a free pack of Bandz or a $5.00 gift card and Bandz will be 10% off of 3 or more packs during these trading events!

Funky Bandz Launch Party & Trading Day!
One more week of school! My oldest is so ready to be done with projects & finals….we can feel the excitement of the kids when they come in to the stores…almost there! Speaking of the end of the school year- we have plenty of great teacher gifts left & some new great end of year gifts for both boys & girls. One of the new items is mood rings & mood necklaces in the shape of sea creatures, butterflies & dragonflies. It’s finally almost here! Tomorrow, Saturday, May 22nd from 11 am to 3 pm at our Hickory Flat store- Four brand new BANDZ designs will be released at our stores before any other stores anywhere! The designs are Military, Texting,Camp & Superstars! The designer from Funky Bandz will be with us for the event & for every pack of the new designs you purchase, you will also receive a ticket for a drawing to design a pack of Bandz with her that will be sold all across the country & will have the winner’s name included on the packaging! She will also be teaching children how to make their own Bandz trading binders at 12 & 2 pm. If you purchase 10 packages of any bandz during the event tomorrow, you will receive 1 free package! We will have face painting for the younger children. Representatives from the American Legion will be with us between 2:00 – 3:00 for a special donation from the sale of the Military Bandz. Please thank them for their service and the work they do to help our active duty troops & their families!

We carry many monogrammed gift items and you can bring in your items for monogramming as well. Most outside monogramming can be done for $10.00. Turn around time is usually 2-5 days but we can process rush orders in under 48 hours for a $5.00 rush fee.

Please remember that you have 10 days from the time that we call you to pick up your bin (for recently consigned clothing) or clothing from the past season that didn’t sell. After 10 days we automatically donate your items to the Cherokee Family Violence Center. We can provide a tax receipt for you - please let us know if you need one.

We will be having a designer trunk show of all new items at both stores next weekend May 14th & 15th. Bridgemill will be on Friday, the 14th from 11 am to 3 pm & Hickory Flat will be on Saturday the 15th from 11 am to 3 pm. If you like are Mia Ragazza pillowcase dresses, you will love these items! Funky Bandz Launch Party
We are very excited to be hosting the first ever Bandz Launch Party & Trading Event on Saturday, May 22nd from 11 am to 3 pm ONLY AT OUR HICKORY FLAT STORE! The Funky Bandz designer will be here for the event. They will be launching brand new bandz designs at the event & those new designs will be available at our stores before they will be available anywhere else in the U.S. She will be showing kids how to make their own Bandz trading albums at 12:00 & 2:00! For every package of the new designs that you purchase, you will be given a ticket for your child to enter a drawing to design the next package with Funky Bandz! That child’s name will be included on the packaging of that design and sold all across the U.S. That child will also receive a number of free packages of that design to share with their family & friends when it becomes available! We will also have snacks & face painting. Please make plans to join us for this very special event. We anticipate selling out of the new designs early!

We are carrying a new item called Hide-ees (see photos on right). They are adorable shorts that come in various colors for girls size 2 to 10 to wear under their skirts & dresses. Designer Trunk Show
We will be having a designer trunk show of all new items at both stores next weekend May 14th & 15th. Bridgemill will be on Friday, the 14th from 11 am to 3 pm & Hickory Flat will be on Saturday the 15th from 11 am to 3 pm. If you like are Mia Ragazza pillowcase dresses, you will love these items! The same designer will have a large selection of Knot Dresses, Twirl Skirts, purses and much more. All bows will be 10% off during the show as well. Funky Bandz Launch Party
We are very excited to be hosting the first ever Bandz Launch Party & Trading Event on Saturday, May 22nd from 11 am to 3 pm ONLY AT OUR HICKORY FLAT STORE! The Funky Bandz designer will be here for the event. They will be launching brand new bandz designs at the event & those new designs will be available at our stores before they will be available anywhere else in the U.S. She will be showing kids how to make their own Bandz trading albums at 12:00 & 2:00! For every package of the new designs that you purchase, you will be given a ticket for your child to enter a drawing to design the next package with Funky Bandz! That child’s name will be included on the packaging of that design and sold all across the U.S. That child will also receive a number of free packages of that design to share with their family & friends when it becomes available! We will also have snacks & face painting. Please make plans to join us for this very special event. We anticipate selling out of the new designs early!

We are carrying a new item called Hide-ees (see photos on right). They are adorable shorts that come in various colors for girls size 2 to 10 to wear under their skirts & dresses. FUNDRAISING
We now have the capability to do after hours "mom's night out" fund raising events at our Hickory Flat store. We can open the store for two hours just for your invitees & a percentage of the evening's sales will go to your charity. Charities will need to be approved. Please call for additional details!

Winter Break Week - Think Spring!
While the snow is fun for a day, most of us are tired of the unusually long & cold winter here in GA. The kids are on winter break - the next time they have a week long break will be in April - spring time! We have a special Webkinz coupon in the column to your right valid for this week only. We have a NEW item! The Little Experience…creative things for children to make & do. We found these when we went to the gift show in Atlanta & fell in love with them immediately & hope you will too! They are kits that help your children create- pirate ships & space ships, a sew it yourself doll, knit an elephant, stitch a keychain…and many more. They are so cute & creative and different from all the others we’ve seen out there. Let your child create the old fashioned way instead of always being in front of the TV, computer or video games. Every time you reach 100 points, you will be able to redeem those points as a $5.00 gift certificate in the store on your next visit. It’s hard to believe that last year is gone & 2010 is upon us! We are so grateful for your business & excited about the upcoming year! We have received a good supply of baby gear recently…At Bridgemill we have an Amby Baby (Cocoon) & Jump Jump, an exersaucer, two cradle swing, two Sit n Stand strollers (one is a Joovy), a THOMAS TRAIN WITH TRACKS (great Christmas present), a Barbie Ride In Beetle, a Dollhouse (new in box), several bouncer seats, car seats, slings & carriers, boppy pillows, infant-toddler toys, activity gyms and much more…At Hickory Flat we have a Valco Baby stroller with the toddler seat which was used 3 times at most (retails at $560 & we are selling it for $350!), a nice high chair, Pack n Play, walker, Fisher Price Aquarium cradle swing, rocking horses, bouncer seats, a booster seat for the table, several bouncer seats, car seats, slings & carriers, boppy pillows, infant-toddler toys, activity gyms and much more…
We can still use jogging strollers, pack n plays & walkers. If you have baby gear to consign, please call us to make sure we have space for it & PLEASE clean it before you bring it in.

AMERICAN HERITAGE UNIFORMS
Remember we have a huge stock of AHA uniforms in the back room at our BridgeMill store. We have put out our fall/winter stock, however if you need any short sleeved items, just ask. We still have them! We do not carry AHA at the Hickory Flat store.
BIRTHDAY SHIRTS
We now have birthday shirts (many designs to choose from-ask to see the book) which we will customize with your child's name & age. Please allow 2-5 business days for all special orders. These shirts are perfect for your child to wear at their birthday party! Big Brother/Sister shirts are also available. We also have the very cute birthday hats & bibs from Mud Pie for first birthdays!
MONOGRAMMING
We carry many monogrammed gift items and you can bring in your items for monogramming as well. Most outside monogramming can be done for $10.00. Turn around time is usually 2-5 days but we can process rush orders in under 48 hours for a $5.00 rush fee.
MONKEY MONEY
We began a rewards program called MONKEY MONEY in September which has been very popular! If you sign up for this program you will receive a point for every dollar spent in our store. Every time you reach 100 points, you will be able to redeem those points as a $5.00 gift certificate in the store on your next visit. We will also have some MONKEY MONEY MADNESS DAYS when you can earn double points (2 points for each dollar spent). Watch this blog for Monkey Money updates! Please note that while we are the owners of both Funky Monkey stores, the POS system is not networked so if you shop at both stores, you will need to sign up for the Monkey Money program at both locations & your rewards will be tracked separately at each location.
LAYAWAY
Funky Monkey is excited to offer a layaway program at both of our stores. Do you need an entire wardrobe for your child but don't quite have the funds available? Do you want to start your holiday shopping with our many cute gift items? Details of the plan are as follows- Layaway term is 30 days
Sale prices do not apply to layaway
Maximum layaway amount per account/household is $250
Down Payment equals 10% or $10, whichever is greater
A minimum of 50% is due within two weeks, balance by the end of 30 days
Layaway fee of $5.00 applies
Cancellation fee of $5.00 applies for any layaway cancellations or changes; the balance of a deposit on a cancelled layaway will be refunded on a store gift card
Any layaways not paid in full within 30 days will be automatically cancelled & the cancellation policy will apply.
FUNDRAISING
We now have the capability to do after hours "mom's night out" fund raising events at our Hickory Flat store. We can open the store for two hours just for your invitees & a percentage of the evening's sales will go to your charity. Charities will need to be approved. Please call for additional details!
SHOPPERS GUIDE TO FUNKY MONKEY
1. Shop often. The best stuff goes quickly, but don't be discouraged because we receive 100's of items every day, which means our product is constantly moving in and out. If you didn't find that exact item this week we might have it next time.
2. Ask a sales associate about items behind the counter. These items are for sale but haven't been hung and sent out to the floor. Don't be shy and be the first to take advantage of these great finds.
BIN PICKUP
Please remember that you have 10 days from the time that we call you to pick up your bin (for recently consigned clothing) or left over summer clothing. After 10 days we automatically donate your items to the Cherokee Family Violence Center. We can provide a tax receipt for you - please let us know if you need one.
