News from Funky Monkey

We hope you had a great spring break week! We finally had a chance to completely catch up on our inventorying so we have plenty of great summer clothing. Come in see what’s different!

NEW ITEMS
CRAZERASERS- These popular & funky puzzle erasers arrived two days before Easter & are very popular!
Wee Blocks- We’ve carried these for awhile but we just received a new shipment with new designs! They are great shower gifts for baby boys – they block the wee-wee when mommmy or daddy is changing the diaper! Super cute!
Also from the same company comes a brand new item- Bunting & Cap sets in Monkey, Sweet Pea, Ladybug & Cow designs – check out pics on the blog!
Also, a few new items from Mud Pie including the much requested Disco Ruffle set for girls as well as the Little Sprout Bubble. And for Mom, a leopard print “Wine Diva” wine glass!

SILLYBANDZ, FUNKY BANDZ & ZANY BANDZ
The very popular Hippie & Beach bands will be back in stock on Thursday & Friday. We have a shipment of 7 different Zanybandz designs arriving today including Piratez, Sportz, Mystic, Moonlight, etc! We also carry the silicone necklace to hang your bands from. New TIE-DYED necklaces in Dragon, At the Beach & Hollywood designs will be arriving very soon! A new Baseball design is on order as well! We will be carrying some great new 12 pack designs at a lower price point in a week or two (as soon as they become available).

SNAP CAPS
We have many new choker colors & cap designs – come & check them out for yourself. A new tie-dyed choker should be arriving today. We also have a number of new super cute Snap Cap keepers. We have the new LIBERTY LIONS bottle caps! We’ve been carrying the SIXES STARS for a month or two. We hope to have the AHA cap sometime this week! We donate $1.00 of the proceeds of each cap sold to the school so it is a great way to show your school pride & support your school. If you would like us to carry your school bottle cap, please have a PTA board member or school principle contact us.

TRUNK SHOW
We are planning a trunk show featuring many different items from Mia Ragazza (the designer of our pillowcase dresses)! There will be many unique & one of a kind items including knot dresses, twirl skirts, purses, etc. It will be on May 14th at Bridgemill & May 15th at Hickory Flat. Please watch for more details, pictures, etc!

WEBKINZ
We have many great selections as well as the Webkinz Signature, Juniors & a new selection of Zumbuddies! All of our Webkinz are now, Buy 3 or more & get 20% off! Don’t forget the Pillowpopz pillowcase that lets your little one sleep with four of their favorite Webkinz or other stuffed animals!

SMENCILS
These popular, gourmet scented pencils are backordered until May! They are made of 100% recycled newspapers & come in their own biodegradable storage tube to keep them smelling fresh! We have a very limited quantity of both the #2 pencils & the colored pencils left at the Hickory Flat store!

MUD PIE
We’ve had a great response to the new Mud Pie items including spring & summer clothing, shoes, hair accessories & more. These items are absolutely darling – Mud Pie has expanded their sizes – come in & check these out. We order limited quantities so get them while they last! ALSO BRAND NEW from Mud Pie, Happy Birthday, “30” & “40” wine glasses & “30” & “40” birthday crowns!

DESIGNER PILLOWCASE DRESSES!
We have beautiful SPRING pillow case dress designs with new colors & fabrics arriving anytime! These are absolutely beautiful & selling quickly so get them now. Also by popular request, we’ve expanded to a size 6/7. We now carry a 2/3, 4/5 & 6/7. Smaller or larger sizes can be ordered. CUSTOM JEWELRY
We carry a great selection of custom jewelry pieces designed by Cindi Dornellas of MeuCow Creations. Cindi can make a custom necklace, art tiles or other beautiful & unique pieces using your photographs & specifications. Cindi has just brought in some incredible new designs & the ever popular photo pocket pendants! One of her new designs is a “Lifesaver” necklace in bright, bold colors. There are two sizes with great $12 & $15 price points (for custom, one of a kind jewelry)! They have been selling quickly – see photos on right! Her Bloom n’ Beads is one of my favorites & perfect for spring! Come in to our stores for some more great & inexpensive ideas!

BABY GEAR
We have plenty of great swings, bouncy seats, gates, strollers, etc at the moment & most of our baby gear is now 10-20% off of our already low prices. However, we are in desperate need of Pack & Plays, High Chairs, Exersaucers, Jumperoos & Walkers. Please call us if you have any of these items to consign. We pay out 50% of the selling price on baby gear that sells for more than $20.

SUMMER HOURS
We have returned to our summer hours. We open at 10 am every day at both stores and we close at 6 pm on Monday & Wednesday evenings and at 7 pm on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday evenings at Bridgemill. We close at 6 pm Monday through Wednesday and at 7 pm on Thursday & Friday evening at Hickory Flat. We close at 5 pm on Saturdays & are closed on Sundays at both stores.

SPRING & SUMMER CLOTHING & CONSIGNMENT
We are receiving lots of great spring & summer clothing! Come in & check OFTEN – it is consignment so they are one of a kind!
We are accepting spring & summer consignment & have gotten some very nice clothing already! Come check it out & don’t forget to schedule your appointment as well! Remember to read our consignment policies on the blog BEFORE bringing your items! See the very bottom of this blog for our consignment policies & payment information. All clothing must be in bins with lids & NO PET HAIR PLEASE!

MARKDOWNS
Remember that we now do automatic markdowns on our clothing! Everyone loves this because many of the items ring up at 10-50% off at the register which is a very nice surprise! You can always feel free to have us check prices if you’re not sure.

AMERICAN HERITAGE UNIFORMS
Remember we have a huge stock of AHA uniforms in the back room at our BridgeMill store. We have put out our spring/summer stock. We do not carry AHA at the Hickory Flat store.

BIRTHDAY SHIRTS
We now have birthday shirts (many designs to choose from-ask to see the book) which we will customize with your child's name & age. Please allow 2-5 business days for all special orders. These shirts are perfect for your child to wear at their birthday party! Big Brother/Sister shirts are also available. We also have the very cute birthday hats & bibs from Mud Pie for first birthdays!

MONOGRAMMING
We carry many monogrammed gift items and you can bring in your items for monogramming as well. Most outside monogramming can be done for $10.00. Turn around time is usually 2-5 days but we can process rush orders in under 48 hours for a $5.00 rush fee.

MONKEY MONEY
We began a rewards program called MONKEY MONEY in September which has been very popular! If you sign up for this program you will receive a point for every dollar spent in our store. Every time you reach 100 points, you will be able to redeem those points as a $5.00 gift certificate in the store on your next visit. We will also have some MONKEY MONEY MADNESS DAYS when you can earn double points (2 points for each dollar spent). Watch this blog for Monkey Money updates! Please note that while we are the owners of both Funky Monkey stores, the POS system is not networked so if you shop at both stores, you will need to sign up for the Monkey Money program at both locations & your rewards will be tracked separately at each location.

LAYAWAY
Funky Monkey is excited to offer a layaway program at both of our stores. Do you need an entire wardrobe for your child but don't quite have the funds available? Details of the plan are as follows- Layaway term is 30 days
Sale prices do not apply to layaway
Maximum layaway amount per account/household is $250
Down Payment equals 10% or $10, whichever is greater
A minimum of 50% is due within two weeks, balance by the end of 30 days
Layaway fee of $5.00 applies
Cancellation fee of $5.00 applies for any layaway cancellations or changes; the balance of a deposit on a cancelled layaway will be refunded on a store gift card
Any layaways not paid in full within 30 days will be automatically cancelled & the cancellation policy will apply.

BIN & CLOTHING PICKUP
Please remember that you have 10 days from the time that we call you to pick up your bin (for recently consigned clothing) or clothing from the past season that didn’t sell. After 10 days we automatically donate your items to the Cherokee Family Violence Center. We can provide a tax receipt for you - please let us know if you need one.
